都市生活與空間政治是我的研究主軸，我特別關注全球化、治理、與殖民歷史如何交錯在實質的空間，以及都市居民如何回應都市生活與空間的變遷。歷年研究主題包括形象商圈中的攤販與小商家；日本流行文化的跨國消費；以及以跨國移動來因應資本全球化的台灣家庭。目前的研究一方面聚焦於保存運動如何將日治時期的基礎建設和非地標性建築轉化為市民的共同資產，並由日常、微小之處尋求共同行動與連結的可能性，使市民生活成為「公共」行動爭奪場域；另一方面，則探討公民團體與行動者如何建構公民，進行空間秩序、民主、與公民權的辯證。研究地點以高雄、台北、與美國洛杉磯為主。

開設課程包括：都市人類學、空間與地方、消費與文化、公民與政治生活、文化人類學專題。

My researches center on physical and symbolic contentions over space in urban Taiwan. In particular, I am interested in how globalization, governance, daily life, and colonial history intersect in urban space and how residents respond to changes in city life and physical landscape. Within this broad scheme, I have conducted researches on vendors and small business in Kaohsiung’s New Kujiang Shopping District (2010 and 2013), infrastructure and waterfront redevelopment in Kaohsiung (2017), and non-governmental preservation group in Hámásing (2019).
